Building and Grounds

The accommodation at High Street Academy includes the original main three - storey building, erected in 1894. The main building has been refurbished and contains the Key Stage Two a hall and dining room, school canteen, staff room, Head Teacher’s office and the administrators' office.

The upper storey currently includes a central resources room/library area, toilet block and four classrooms.  A mezzanine floor has been constructed over the hall. This has created two new rooms which are currently being used as classrooms/teaching spaces.

In 1972 two new buildings were added to the school in order to provide a self-contained Key Stage One block consisting of four classrooms with a large practical area, and also a purpose built Nursery unit with its own outdoor play area which is currently under refurbishment. The nursery accepts children from 2 years old - 4 years old.

There is a large tarmac playground at the rear of the school and there are further grounds/a school field to the side of the school.
