Year 2

Dear Parents
Tomorrow - 28th June - is our Sports Day!
Please could your child wear their PE kit to school (white t-shirt, black shorts / bottoms and trainers or plimsolls) as they will be wearing this for the whole day. Also, bearing in mind the hot weather we are currently experiencing (at last!!), please could you provide your child with a hat and sun cream. If your child does not have a water bottle in school, please could you also, if possible, provide your child with a bottle of water. However, I will ensure that we have a jug of water and cups available to those who are unable to do so.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow afternoon!
Mrs Chambers :)
Our topic this term is based around the book 'Bonkers About Beetroot' which is set in a safari park! Year 2 are loving learning about Africa! In the book, there are no visitors to the park and the animals are sad. Zebra decides to plant a beetroot - which grows huge and when he eats it he turns purple! This links to our Science topic of Plants.
The children have enjoyed cutting open fruit and vegetables to find seeds (photos to follow!) and have learnt about seed dispersal! We will also be planting our own vegetables!

Home Reading Books                                               June 27th 2019

Thank - you, Year 2 parents, for continuing to read at home with your child. Just 10 minutes a day makes such a difference. Feel free to come in and change their reading books with them at the end of the day, if your child has not had a chance to do so during the school day.
Please could you continue to sign and date reading records when they have read at home.
If your child has no reading book or reading record, please come and speak to me and I will arrange a new one for them.
Welcome to Year 2.
We ask that every child has:
a) their reading book
b) their coat and jumper
c) their PE kit (any shorts, t shirt and trainers or plimsolls)
d) a smile
everyday so that they are prepared for the day.
 Many thanks,

Mrs Carr

We are hoping to make 'sunshine bars' for our astronauts to eat in space. Here is the recipe to try at home.

Please find some useful websites below.  Your child enjoys using them in class and would love to share them with you at home.
