School Council

High Street School Council have a very important and responsible role to fulfil and we are very proud of them! This is because the children have an opportunity to affect and influence the things that happen at school.

Every year, two children from each of the year groups from Year 2 upwards are selected to serve on the council. They meet regularly with Miss Godddard, our teacher responsible for the Student Council. The representatives then feed back to their peers after each meeting, so that everyone in school is aware of the issues which have been discussed.

Its aim is to discuss ideas and suggestions that will help improve and develop the school in different ways. The children can take responsibility and help improve behaviour; they can become involved, where appropriate, in some of the decision making that takes place in the school.
