Welcome to Foundation Class

Welcome to our class page!

Can you believe there are only a few months left until the end of the Foundation year?!

This term we will begin the transition process for children starting in year 1. This will ensure that all children have a smooth transition into the next chapter of their school journey. We will begin to introduce the children to whole school assemblies and playtimes.

They are becoming so much more independent and are ready for this!

We will continue to have a very exciting curriculum, learning indoors and outdoors and will get very messy! This is how we learn best!

Our topic this term is Summer. Why not go on an Summer walk and bring in some objects we can explore? Have you been on a holiday? We would love to find out about the places you have visited!

Our story for the term will be, 'Jack and the Beanstalk.'

Here are a list of websites to help with learning at home!
Please make sure children have sun cream applied before school each morning!
Home learning
Please read with  your child every day for at least 5 minutes. To begin with your child may need lots of help, that's fine- we are still learning!
Can your child write their name? It would really help if you could practice at home together!
Counting games and rhymes are a great way to help with number!
This term, children will start to bring home spellings each week. Please support your child to learn these.
Autumn term
Foundation have enjoyed taking part in our Nativity. We have been singing, dancing and acting as beautiful angels! We all listened very carefully and joined in with the production!
Spring Term
We have been learning about Spring. Foundation have enjoyed a Spring walk to the park! Look at the signs of Spring we have found!
We have been adding numbers together to find total amounts! We have been using Numicon this week!
This week, we have been creating observational drawings of Daffodils. We had to look very carefully and think about the sizes and colours of the flower. We also learnt about the parts of a flower. We began by drawing the stem, then the leaves and the flower. We finished them, by adding some colour!
