Dolphin Class (Y3)

Welcome to Dolphin Class.

This year, Dolphin Class is taught by Mr. Simpson and supported by Mrs Benford.

Key messages.

Our PE days are on Wednesdays and Fridays and all children should bring in their PE kits for at least these days.

Home learning is expected in each week on a Thursday to be sent back out on a Friday.

When at all possible, children should be heard reading daily and may change their reading book every morning.

Our Autumn term topic is 'Once Upon a Time'

This will include:

Reading 'The 3 Billy Goats Gruff' and other traditional stories

Learning about sound and sound-proofing and how the goats could walk more quietly over the bridge

Thinking about what else the Troll could eat and using knowledge of a balanced diet to design and create a menu

Learning about light, dark and shadows and using this to tell stories with shadow puppets

Understanding how to travel safely in the local area and keeping safe when crossing the road

Below is a link to a knowledge organiser for sound, which is the first part of our Autumn term topic.
You can use this to talk with you child about what they have been learning and give them a mini-quiz to see if they know what each of the key words means:
